Quail is store management and point-of-sale built for antique stores, vendor malls and consignment shops: fast checkout, pausable transactions, split payments, gift certificates, consignment fees and booth rent, a vendor portal with weekly sales summaries, and automatic cloud backups. It's focused, and it's focused on the counter.
Inky covers the same counter ground — booths, rent, vendor payouts, a vendor portal, labels, cashier logins, gift certificates — and then keeps going. The stock in your booths is the same stock Inky can photograph, write, price and prepare for the marketplaces you sell on. Quail's own materials don't cover online marketplaces, photos or listings; that's simply not the job it took on.
Quail runs in a web browser, by its own description — handy, because it works on whatever is already at the counter. Inky Mall OS is a desktop app for Windows and macOS: it rings sales with the internet down and syncs when it's back, so the checkout line never waits on the router.
Quail is a flat monthly subscription, and its tiers are set by how many vendors you have. Inky Mall OS is bought once with a small yearly licence, every vendor included at any number, and the optional online half is a flat monthly add-on rather than a charge per head.
